Beaches Valencia Terra i Mar

The central Valencia region called Valencia Terra i Mar is located between the Costa del Azahar and the Costa Blanca. The city of Valencia is located in the middle of this region and separates north from south. Along the hundreds of kilometres of coastline of the Terra i Mar there are many long golden sandy beaches. There is no doubt that these are some of the best beaches in Spain.

Located north of Valencia, the largest beach of Alboraya is just a stone's throw away from the popular La Malvarrosa beach of Valencia. Although this beach doesn’t have as many facilities to offer as La Malvarrosa, many residents of Alboraya and Valencia come here to enjoy its 1 km long fine sandy beach over an average width of 110 meters. Following the coastline up north you will come across the beaches of El Puig. Its 4 km long coastline has 5 sand and gravel beaches with breakwaters keeping the currents away and creating small inlets. The facilities of these beaches include kid playgrounds, a promenade, sports areas, showers and several places to play a game of skittles (like bowling). All the way north of Terra I Mar lies the 10 km coastline of Sagunto divided in 2 by the marina of Canet. All the way north from Canet the quieter beaches offer a permitted nudist area and lots of water sports activities, like windsurfing, sailing and water skiing. The southern beach of Sagunto is a lot more crowded, fine sand beach which is accessible for disabled and handicapped people. At this beach you can also hire windsurfing equipment during the summer.

South from Valencia just passed the Albufera Nature Reserve lies the city of Sueca. Its long coastline is filled with fine and golden sand beaches named after the residential areas located next to it. Overall the waters here are calm and clear and combined with the south-west evening wind blowing in this area makes it a popular windsurfing spot. At the end of the river Júcar the coastline of Cullera, south from Sueca, is divided in 3 parts. In the north lies a quiet 2 km long beach surrounded by restaurants. In the middle lie some smaller beaches with fine sand. The 2 most popular and crowded beaches of Cullera are located most southerly were they have floating platforms, kid playgrounds and is easily accessible for disabled and handicapped people. If you want to go windsurfing, you can hire windsurfing equipment on the beach. Located near to the Costa Blanca the beaches of Gandía have it all. Long and wide fine and golden sand beaches, an lively promenade, permitted nudist area, a sailing school, many hotels, restaurants, bars and discotheques located near to the beaches to busy during all those hot summer nights and much more. The most sotherly beaches of the Terra i Mar are those of Oliva. Its 10 km long coastline is split in 2 by a small dock called Goleta. Along the Oliva coastline you can find all kinds of different beaches: small beaches, large beaches, quite beaches, crowed beaches, many facilities, little facilities. A nice extra are the sand dunes that separate the beach from a wide field of orange groves.
