Valencia Connect > Driving

Valencia is a relatively small town and driving in Valencia doesn't generally prove to be a huge challenge for motorists.  There is, however, a good public transport system, so unless you really need a car, it's easy to get by without driving.

Four things you need to drive in Spain:
1)      Registration papers, which show when the car was first registered and they must be in your name!
2)      ITV paper, which is the technical specification of your car and also states when the latest ITV inspection was carried out.
3)      Car insurance, always keep a copy of the latest payment in the car as proof of validity of the insurance.
4)      And obviously, a valid driving license.

If you are planning to use a trailer don’t forget to get it insured by the same company that insured the car, and if it is heavier than 750kg it requires its own registration and number plate.

Finding an ITV place is not too difficult, simply when cruising the streets keep your eyes open for the ITV signs pointing to the next authorized shop.

The following are some addresses of ITV places in Valencia:

ITV Levante, C/ Manuel de Falla, 10 Tel. 96-3407114

ASEGURAMIENTO TECNICO DE CALIDAD S.A.,C/ Avda. Ramón y Cajal, s/nº, Tel. 96-2910720

VALENCIA DE SERVICIOS ITV S.A., C/ dels gremis, 15, Poligono vara de quart, Tel. 96-3136000
